Availability
Tell companies when you could start — and how that shapes matching.
Availability tells companies when you could realistically start. It takes ten seconds to set and makes every other signal on your profile more actionable.
What availability means
It's not a commitment — it's a signal. Recruiters use it to decide who to contact first, and Migbirds uses it to decide who gets notified about matching roles.
The availability statuses
- Available now — you can start within about a week.
- Available in 2 weeks — you're wrapping something up.
- Available in 4 weeks — longer notice or a planned break.
- Available from a date — you know exactly when.
- Engaged, but open — on a mission, listening for the right offer.
- Not available — not looking right now.
How availability affects matching
Match quality always ranks first — availability acts as a tiebreaker between equally strong candidates and as a filter recruiters can apply. If you're set to not available or engaged, you're excluded from proactive notifications, so you won't be pinged about roles while you're not looking.
Keeping it fresh
An availability set months ago reads as stale. Migbirds reminds you to review it after 45 days without an update — a quick confirmation keeps recruiters confident your status is real.
